Trying to get her seventh grade history class to understand how the Indians must have felt when they first encountered the Spanish explorers, the teacher asked,
“How would you feel if someone showed up on your doorstep who looked very different, spoke a strange language, and wore unusual clothes? Wouldn’t you be scared, too?”
“Nah,” answered one boy, “I’d just figure it was my sister’s date!”

Little Johnny noticed that Little Jimmy was wearing a brand new watch. “Did you get that for your birthday?” asked Little Johnny.
“Nope,” replied Little Jimmy.
“Well, did you get it for Christmas then?”
Again Little Jimmy said, “Nope.”
“You didn’t steal it, did you?” asked Little Johnny.
“No!” said Little Jimmy.
“I went in Mom and Dad’s bedroom the other night while they were doing ‘the nasty’ and Dad gave me his watch just to get rid of me.”
Little Johnny was impressed by this and vowed to get a new watch himself. That night, he waited outside his parents’ room until he heard the unmistakable sounds, then he swung the door wide open and boldly entered the bedroom. His father, caught in midstroke, turned and yelled, “What do you want?”
“I want a watch!” Little Johnny replied.
“Fine,” said his father. “Just stand over there in the corner and watch — but keep quiet!”
