Diary

Filed under: Thoughts — Ankur Aggarwal @ 9:04 pm

The moment we hit the next year, everyone scrambles to grab a copy of a diary. It becomes a perfect gift etc.
However, what I cannot understand is that do we all actually need a diary or just a leather bounded notebook?
how many of us actually use the feature:
each and every day of the year has a seperate page.
In fact I should ask how many of us actually are able to fill a diary completely before moving on to the next one.

krem mawmluh caves

Filed under: Thoughts — Ankur Aggarwal @ 3:48 pm

One of the best places to go this year is the North Eastern Part of the country. I have travelled length and breadth of the nation and no where else I have felt closer to nature.

One of the few least discovered treasures of this not so distant land are the Krem Mawmluh caves. They are located about half a km west of Cherrapunji, adjacent to the small hamlet of Mawmluh. The cave interestingly has a five-river way with impressive proportions. With a length of 4503 m, this cave is at present, the 4th longest in the Indian sub continent.

Little things in life

Filed under: Thoughts — Ankur Aggarwal @ 2:36 pm

Arun, a very close friend of mine asked me a few days ago if I appreciate the little things in life. It sounded as a very strange question in life, but look at how these Australian tourists are relishing an autorickshaw trip, I could understand what he was trying to say.

The pleasure in life comes not from big feats, but from these small things that brings a smile at ones face.

Act Silly

Filed under: Thoughts — Ankur Aggarwal @ 12:22 am

Try to go back and remember all the events that have happened in your life. You would hardly be able to recollect what you did on a normal mundane day. However if on a particular day, you played a prank, acted silly or did something out of ordinary, then you would be able to recollect with very vivid details about the events that unfolded, the setup, etc.

So to sum up, in the words of a dear devil (who apparently was born on this very day, a few decades ago)… “Act silly fool, after all that is what makes your day special and worth cherishing”

” In short term, it would make me happy to go play outside. In the long term, it would make me happier to do well at school & become successful. But in the very long run, i know which will make better Memories.”

Management Letter

Filed under: Humor — Ankur Aggarwal @ 11:41 am

Dear Staff,

Due to the current financial situation caused by the slowdown of economy in US since last Christmas, Management has decided to implement a scheme to put workers of 40 years of age on early retirement. This scheme will be known as RAPE (Retire Aged People Early). Persons selected to be RAPEd can apply to management to be eligible for the SHAFT scheme (Special Help After Forced Termination). Persons who have been RAPEd and SHAFTed will be reviewed under the SCREW scheme (Scheme Covering Retired Early
Workers). A person may be RAPEd once, SHAFTed twice and SCREWed as many times as
Management deems appropriate.

Persons who have been RAPEd can only get AIDS (Additional Income for Dependents or Spouse) or HERPES (Half Earnings for Retired Personnel Early Severance). Obviously persons who have AIDS or HERPES will not be SHAFTed or SCREWed any further by management. Persons staying on will receive as much SHIT (Special High Intensity Training) as possible. Management has always prided itself on the amount of SHIT it gives employees. Should you feel that you do not receive enough SHIT, please bring to the attention
of your Supervisor. They have been trained to give you all the SHIT you can handle.

Sincerely,

The Management

Birth Rate

Filed under: Humor — Ankur Aggarwal @ 5:37 pm

A small town with a high birth rate attracted the attention of a team of university sociologists. They wrote a grant proposal, got a chunk of money, hired aides and an anthropologist, found a family planning and birth control specialist, moved to town, rented offices, set up their computers, and designed questionnaires. On the first full day of work, the project director went out for a cup of coffee. The waitress, knowing he was not a local, asked why he was in town. He explained and then asked her if she had any idea why the birth rate was so high.
To his surprise, she replied, “Sure. Every morning the six o’clock train comes through here and blows for the crossing, waking everybody up. It’s too late to go back to sleep and it’s too early to get up!”
